“Verbum is sacred”,
Your words still linger in my thoughts,
You’ve taught me how words have power,
Don’t speak something you don’t mean and cower.
The world indeed seems dark,
Yet, you seem to find the light,
When people think about the thorns,
You show the world the beautiful roses,
Hidden behind a barrage of storms.
Lies, deception and Manipulation,
You’ve shown how you’ve learnt to despise them,
Once you’ve walked the path of conscience,
Every decision starts to make sense.
You cherish the vastness of the sea,
The waves draw you close,
For they have a story to tell,
Of the depths of life,
Calming your heart and making it well
Sharafat hai teri ankhon mein,
Jo dethi hai sukoon,
Kal, aaj ya parson,
Kya hi Tareef karein tumhare nazariye ko1.
Yes, the world is neither cruel
Nor is it a beautiful garden,
Yet, you laugh through the bad days,
Stand firm like a Stonehenge,
You say, It’s God and his mysterious ways.
The love you give,
The kindness you show,
The values you hold,
Including the responses that are cold.
You shut the door when you’ve had enough,
You love more because that’s all you know,
You care without the fear of being misunderstood,
I’d love to walk in those shoes,
If only I could.
